Birthday Party

365 days have passed since the last one. Each year there is a new classification for me, it has been this way since birth. Each birthday I am titled one year older than the last birthday. Each year I progress, not only in years or in titles, but I seem to be able to do more each year. First I learned to crawl, then to talk, then to walk, to tie my shoes, to read. Every year I become more like mom and dad, but will I ever live as old as them? Will I learn too much too soon and be too smart for my won good? Or will I learn to little too slow and die in combat? I’d rather be too smart. Why is this birthday so mellow for me? Times must be changing.
